Terms of Service
1 · Who we are
TruTalk is operated by Reehanul Karim, an individual based in Milan, Italy.
In these Terms, "the Service" means the TruTalk website at letstrutalk.com, the TruTalk app at app.letstrutalk.com, and related products.
2 · Accepting these Terms
By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
If you're using TruTalk on behalf of an organisation — running a session for a team, for example — you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.
3 · Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. By using the Service you confirm that you are. We ask you to confirm this once, and we record that you did. It is a good-faith declaration, not an identity check.
TruTalk contains questions intended for adults, including questions about relationships, family and personal history.
4 · Accounts and access
You can start using TruTalk without an account. After a small number of sessions you'll be asked to create one.
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping access to it secure and for activity that happens under it. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email address.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription, removes your profile and saved cards, and disconnects your past session history from your identity. The privacy policy describes exactly what is removed and what is kept in anonymised form.
You can also export your data at any time from inside the app.
5 · Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to help anyone else:
- use the Service for any unlawful, harmful or abusive purpose;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the Service;
- scrape, copy or republish significant portions of TruTalk's question library without written permission;
- disrupt the Service through automated traffic, denial-of-service techniques or security probing;
- use the Service to harass, threaten, impersonate or defraud anyone;
- bypass access restrictions, technical limits or paywalls.
6 · Subscriptions and payment
Free tier. The Standard tier is free and has no time limit. It includes five conversation rituals — Go Deeper™, Pathways™, Hot Seat™, Spin the Bottle™ and Shuffle™ — a daily limit on sessions per mode, and a limited number of saved cards.
Trying premium modes. There is no free trial period. Instead, each premium mode can be sampled once, as a short five-card session, at no cost.
TruTalk+. €4.99 per month. There is currently no annual plan. TruTalk+ unlocks the premium rituals — Date Nights™, Team Connect™, Family Ties™, Event Icebreakers™ and Cultural Exchange™ — removes session limits, allows unlimited saved cards, and includes seasonal packs and a weekly bonus session.
Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each billing period until cancelled.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account, or by emailing hello@letstrutalk.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't refund partial periods.
Right of withdrawal. EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Italian Consumer Code. By starting to use a paid subscription immediately, you expressly request that performance begin during that period and accept that the right is reduced accordingly for the portion already supplied.
Payments. All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Price changes. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. A new price applies from your next renewal, never retroactively.
7 · Intellectual property
The questions, design, branding, code, copy and visual elements of TruTalk are owned by us or our licensors and protected by Italian, EU and international copyright and trademark law.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial conversation.
You may share individual questions out loud and on screen with the people in the room with you. You may not redistribute the question library at scale, sell access to it, or use TruTalk content to train AI models or build competing products.
"TruTalk", the TruTalk logo and the tagline "Born from prompts. Built for presence." are our trademarks.
8 · Your content and your conversations
We do not read, store or analyse the conversations you have using TruTalk. What you say in response to a question belongs entirely to the people in your room. The app records that a session happened — which mode, when, how long, how many cards were seen — and nothing about what was said.
If you send us a message through the contact form, you give us permission to read it and reply. We don't own your messages and we don't use them publicly without asking.
9 · Availability
We aim to keep TruTalk online and working, but we provide it "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always reachable, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of it, with reasonable notice where possible.
10 · Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11 · Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Italian law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €50.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profit, data or goodwill.
Nothing here limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12 · Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time, and delete your account from inside the app.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the integrity of the Service. We'll give reasonable notice where possible.
13 · Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the product or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14 · Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Italian Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Milan, Italy, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
